Buenos Aires, March 12 (NA) -- TC 2000 kicked off its 2026 season with a presentation in the heart of the city and announced the Ciudad de Buenos Aires Grand Prix, which will take place this weekend on a street circuit in Villa Soldati. The category held a parade of race cars along 9 de Julio Avenue and concluded the route at the Obelisk, where drivers, organizers, and authorities inaugurated an event expected to draw thousands of people with free entry in various sectors. The parade started at the headquarters of the Argentine Automobile Club on Avenida del Libertador and served as a preview of the show that will unfold in the south of the city. It was spectacular to hear the TC2000 engines in the heart of the capital; we invite you to enjoy a show for the whole family. The race will be held on a 2.509-kilometer urban circuit that will connect General Roca and Escalada avenues with a section of the City Park. During the parade, drivers Matías Rossi in a Toyota Corolla Cross GRS, Franco Vivian in a Chevrolet Tracker, and Facundo Aldrighetti in a Honda ZR-V showcased their cars to the public, generating high expectations among motorsport fans. The parade concluded at the Obelisk, where the drivers and other main characters posed for the official photo with the emblematic 'BA' sign. Before them, the Fiat Competizione and Top Race categories will compete on the same track. The event will also feature a wide range of entertainment, with the Fan Zone including driving simulators, classic car exhibitions, and a replica of Juan Manuel Fangio's historic 'Silver Arrow'. There will be interactive areas dedicated to the Oscar and Juan Gálvez Racetrack, food sectors, shows by the White Brigade, artistic proposals, and activities for children, including inflatables, pedal kart circuits, and drawing areas. The street race is also part of the city's sports calendar for 2027, the year Buenos Aires will be the World Capital of Sport. In parallel, the Oscar and Juan Gálvez Racetrack continues with renovation works to adapt it to international standards and allow the return of major world motorsport events. The event will also mark the return of TC2000 to a Buenos Aires street circuit after thirteen years. On-track activities will begin with free practice, continue on Saturday with qualifying, and peak on Sunday at 13:00 with the main race, scheduled for 35 minutes plus one lap. On the main straight, 952 meters long, the cars will exceed 250 km/h. Also present were the city's Secretary of Sports, Fabián 'Chino' Turnes, and the president of Tango Motorsport, Alejandro Levy. Turnes highlighted the importance of the event and stated: 'This is an incredible festival that is just beginning and will be lived to the fullest throughout the weekend in the south of the city.'
